This painting is called “Fern Blossom.”It is inspired by a Ukrainian myth about the night of Ivan Kupala, when anyone can go into the forest and test their luck. The one who finds the fern flower, guarded by the spirit of the forest, and manages to pick it, receives all the gifts of this world.
In this painting, I depict a couple who has found the flower, yet they remain in a quiet inner emptiness, holding each other in an embrace.
